How long does an eye exam take?
It is recommended that you expect to be in our office for about an hour for a comprehensive eye exam. This time includes updating your medical and insurance information as well as selecting new eyeglasses. With our large selection of frames, it might take a little longer.
What is involved in a comprehensive eye exam?
During an eye exam, Dr. DeNigris will observe your overall eye health including looking for signs of glaucoma, cataracts, and symptoms of other diseases. Tests will be performed to check your vision sharpness; determine your prescription strength; and examine how your eyes are working together. Some serious health concerns can affect your eye health such as hypertension and diabetes.
What is involved in a contact lens exam fitting?
During a contact lens fitting, Dr. DeNigris will determine your prescription strength as well as examine the surface of each eye. The health of the eye surface and exact measurements are important for insuring that the contact lenses fit properly. Using today's technology, the eye surface is examined carefully to make sure your eyes are healthy enough to wear contacts.
